We have finally wrapped up our Chicken Mummy project - literally. We've disposed of most of the mummies, but we kept one to see what will happen.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Students went home with the following information last week. The conference sign up window is now open and I noticed many have not yet claimed a time. Here is a copy of the information that was sent home last week.

Parent Teacher Conference Scheduling

IMPORTANT PARENT MESSAGE
Teacher Professional Development Day
Butler Elementary teachers have a work day on Friday, March 2.  Therefore, school will not be in session on Friday.  Thursday will be an early dismissal day for all students.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent/Teacher conferences have been schedules for March 7 & 8 (Wednesday & Thursday) for all students.  Thursday will be early dismissal.  All students are out of school on Friday, March 9.
Conferences are being schedules on a 15-minute basis.  Butler has started using an online scheduler.  The window will be open 2/14 and close at midnight 2/28.  After this time you will be unable to schedule online and the teachers will plug you into open slots.  Reminder notes with your time will be sent home.  Instructions for scheduling are included.  If you don't have internet access or are having problem please call the school.
1. Visit the school's home page http://butler.canyonsdistrict.org/ and select the Online Scheduler icon/link.
2. From the Online Scheduler Home Page:
a)  Choose your student's school from the drop down list and click "GO".
b) Enter the school password bobcats.
c) Enter your student's "Student ID".  If you do not know their Student ID, use the LOOKUP STUDENT ID button to access the system.
d) Verify the student's birth date.
e) A list of your student's teachers will be displayed.  Check the box next to the name of the teacher(s) you would like to meet with.  Remember to check Mrs. Kofoed and Mr. Woolf at this point.
f) If you have more than one student in the school you can see all of your students' teachers' schedules at on time by answering YES to the question "Do you want to schedule conferences for another student?" then repeat the steps above for your other students.  If you have only one student, answer NO to the question.
g) You will then see the available time slots for each teacher you select.
h) Select the times that work best for your schedule.
i) Enter your email address (recommended) if you would like an email reminder sent to you.  (Your email address is kept private.)
j) Once you have finished you can confirm your appointment details and print your conference schedule.
k) Write down the Confirmation Number (you will need this number to cancel your appointment.)
**One suggestion is to sign up as soon as you can if you need to see more than one teacher so the times can be schedules close together.

Valentines Dance

I would like to thank the parents who volunteered their time and effort into making the Valentine's Dance a very special day for the 6th Graders. The decorations were incredible, and the snacks and gifts were wonderful. Students had a fantastic time! Please enjoy some photos. Also, watch for an invite to Shutterfly to view more photos.

Red Folders and Progress Reports

Dear Parents,

Progress reports in each subject went home last week. If you haven't seen these yet, please ask your student to show them to you. Students should turn in any missing or absent work that they have overlooked in the past month. One more updated report will be available to you about a week before grade cutoffs for the next report card. Expect them during the last week of February.

Thanks,
Mrs. Bauman

Please keep in mind that there will be two more opportunities to meet the requirements, in March and in May. I store them in the classroom, but they can take them home anytime to update the personal/home goals.

I would love to see every student successfully meet these academic, participation, and personal goals!
