Family Literacy Night

Caralyn & Mark Buehner – Author and Illustrator
Come and enjoy a fun filled presentation with the Buehners! Their books include Snowmen at Night, Balloon Farm,
Fanny’s Dream, and many more. Lots of show and tell. The most fun part is watching Mark draw!
Books will be available to purchase and you can have them signed!

“Books with a Beat!”
You will play a part in the book, “Dear Zoo.” Enjoy different musical instruments and movements and see how music and literature can be combined.  Don’t miss this one… feel the beat of a great book!

Origami
You won’t want to miss Ginger, The Origami Lady, as she teaches us the ancient art of origami.  Prepare for an explosive experience!

A Day In French Class
Come and experience a day in French class.  We will watch a video of your kids while they are learning French.  We will also celebrate Carnival by decorating masks!

Convince Me Cards
Help your child develop their persuasive writing skills through the use of Convince Me Cards.  This fun activity helps turn those continual requests into constructive, well-developed arguments and allows students to practice their writing, vocabulary, and penmanship skills.

Jeu de Memory
Everyone will have a great time as we play a matching game where you find and match animals to their French names. Parents be careful you might just learn a little French also!

Interactive/Dramatic  Reading – Brandy Morris
Ms. Morris will involve parents and children in a dramatic story time including music,
dance, and accents from around the world!
